Wedding Photography at Derby Conference Centre

Felicity and Craig tied the knot yesterday at St Mary's church in Stretton. Whilst Craig got ready, the sun came out and once again we had a pleasant rain-free afternoon.

Craig is a keen fan of Volkswagon Campers and Lambrettas, which might explain their choice of transport for the day!

Fliss wore a beautiful white dress with woven roses on the train. A very pretty and unusual dress.

After the service, we emerged into brilliant sunshine.

Even though it was still a bit breezy, we went somewhere quiet for a little newlywed time alone....

After this, it was off to Derby Conference Centre, where the guests were waiting with drinks and canapes to do some formal groups on the front lawn.

Unusually, the evening began with a Hog Roast for all the guests, including both the reception guests and those invited to the evening party.

The Conference Centre staff did an amazing job of creating a beautiful and atmospheric interior that was great for photographs, and the resident DJ did a great job of getting the party going.

We wish Fliss and Craig all the best.

Wedding Photography at The Riverside Hotel

Christine and Stephen married at the Riverside Hotel on Saturday. The weather held out for us, and the heavens didn't open until everyone had just sat down for the wedding breakfast! Christine was stunning in a short cream dress with a bolero jacket, and added a small fur jacket later to keep out the stiff breeze which blew all day.

This was a small family wedding, with people attending from as far away as Scotland and Ireland, but a great time was had by all.

Stephen got ready at the Riverside, and came down looking extremely distinguished. Christine's son, Steven King, the Best Man, also cut a very dashing figure.

The ceremony was an emotional time for the couple, taking longer than usual with 3 readings and a guitarist.

That only left about forty minutes for the photographs, but it wasn't very warm outside so we blitzed it and were back inside for five p.m. for the wedding breakfast.

During the speeches there was a magic and puppet show for the kids (and one or two of the adults!).

Everyone remarked how beautiful both Christine and Kirsty, the Bridesmaid, looked.

Later, there was a limbo bar for the adults (and one or two of the kids!)

It was shaping up to be a dark and stormy night when we eventually managed to photograph Stephen's pride and joy, his open-topped Mercedes.

And then we rounded the night off by finishing the photographs with the first dance.

Many congratulations to Christine and Steven.

Wedding Photography at St Mary's Church Tutbury and the Riverside Hotel

Lisa and Steven married at St Mary's Church in Tutbury. This really was a beautiful wedding, with lots of guests and a great atmosphere. We started with preparations at Lisa's home, and then met Steven at the church.

We photographed Steven's Best Man's wedding last year, at which Steven was the Best Man. Now the roles were reversed and Steven was the Groom. And his Groom was now his Best Man. If you get my drift.

The ceremony was conducted by the very lovely and charming Reverend Alex, who arrived in typical charismatic fashion.

Lisa was stunning in a long cream dress and veil.

The Chauffeur intended to take the couple for a drive around after the ceremony, but finally settled on a quiet half hour in the car park at Tutbury Castle for Steven to reflect upon what he had done! This was quite convenient, because it meant we could sneak back when all the guests had gone for a few more photos at St Mary's Church.

After this, it was off to the Riverside  Hotel for a cool drink and a pleasant afternoon by the Trent.

The kids played nicely on the banks of the river all day without falling in once, and the sunny afternoon blended seamlessly into a gorgeous mild evening, with a Hog Roast and fireworks display to keep the guests fed and entertained.

Congratualtions to Lisa and Steven and family. Lovely day, lovely people.
