Wedding Photography at the Dovecliff Hotel

The Dovecliff Hotel is one of the closest and prettiest wedding venues for us, so it is always a pleasure to work there. Combined with the fact that Cheryl left home from near us made this a very local wedding indeed.

Cheryl was stunning, and her bridesmaids gorgeous. Her friend, over from America, was a great laugh.

The day stayed warm and sunny, and we grabbed some lovely photos in the gardens at the Dovecliff.

The evening party was a rip-roaring success, and we concluded the photographs with some shots on the staircase in the lobby.

Wedding Photography at Barton Under Needwood

This wedding was always going to be a splendid affair - lots of guests, marquee reception, radiant bride and suave sophisticated groom (or so Glen said).

Because the marquee was at a friend's rather open and windswept farm near Barton Under Needwood, we were slightly worried about the weather - anything less than perfect, and life would start to get difficult. We needn't have worried. It was one of the sunniest and warmest October days on record!

A special mention goes to Glen for constructing the bar in the marquee himself, in situ. I had a good look at it, and he really did make a superb job of it. It wasn't just a bit of a thing either, as you can see from the picture!

Also, we would like to say thank you to the farmer who brought his tractor and modified bucket allowing me to be hoisted fifteen feet in the air to take the big group, which would otherwise have been pretty much impossible on a flat field.

That same farmer allowed us to use his landscaped garden for the main photographs of the couple, which was brilliant because it was within walking distance of the marquee.

The marquee was beautifully decked out inside, with a starlight canopy over the dancefloor. Every wedding that we do is different, and it's hard to say that one is 'better' than another, but this particular one was one of the highlights of 2011 for us.

Burton Albion Pirelli Stadium Wedding Fayre

On Sunday Burton Albion staged their second highly successful wedding fayre, with dozens of exhibitors from the local area including ourselves. Apparently there were more than 170 brides through the door, and many wedding suppliers reported excellent business.

It was a particularly good day if you were looking to hire a car...

We saw a number of our previous brides there with friends to make bookings, and we made further appointments for half a dozen home demonstrations - so a good day for us as well!

Two catwalk shows were hosted by Kiss xx Bridal Boutique of Lichfield, to a large audience.

Musical accompaniment was by the beautiful and talented Lauren Holden, the Wedding Singer.

People were greeted on arrival, and then at intervals through the day, by the pleasant strains of expert flautist and saxophonist Susan Jolley.

Wedding Photography at the Riverside Hotel

We've known Mark's family since their parents married a couple of years ago at Sudbury Hall, and it's always a pleasure to photograph them again. Mark and the Best Man (his brother Rob) made a dashingly handsome pair.

Andrea is a dance instructor, and is a slim, lithe beauty. She wore a figure-hugging black and white dress, and the theme of the wedding was black and white.

Once again the weather favoured us, and we had a wonderful day at the Riverside Hotel.

At the end of the evening, the couple launched a couple of dozen sky lanterns, which sailed off merrily over Burton and landed who knows where!
